Ian Farmer Associates has an association with an analytical laboratory which enables us to offer a wide range of high quality UKAS accredited chemical testing. The analysts operate from two modern well equipped laboratories employing highly skilled and dedicated staff thereby providing an excellent and timely service to our regional office network.
The laboratories provide a wide range of high quality chemical testing for contaminated land, water and wastewater.
They currently carry out over eighty analytical techniques, both organic and inorganic, an achievement that is not static and is regularly improved.
The company was one of the first laboratories in the UK to gain accreditation to MCERTS for contaminated land analysis which augments the comprehensive list of UKAS accredited chemical tests. MCERTS is the Environment Agency approved performance standard for laboratories undertaking chemical testing of soil. It is recognised as meeting the requirements of ISO 17025:2005 for competence of testing and calibration of laboratories.
A full range of chemical analyses are available which can be tailored to the needs of the investigation, and may include:-
- Asbestos screening, identification and quantification
- Inorganic compounds including metals, cyanides, sulphur compounds and pH
- Organic compounds including hydrocarbons (TPH and BTEX), polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH), phenols, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB), volatile organic compounds (VOC), and semi volatile organic compounds (SVOC)
- Pesticides and herbicides
- Dioxins and furans
- Waste characterisation and WAC testing
